So I got the idea for this blog post because I was thinking about how I would love to wear the cute coats and jackets I see on some of my favorite bloggers who live on the East Coast. But, here in Southern California, we don’t actually get a winter. And this week in particular, it’s in the 90’s, which is even warmer than what our summer was this year haha. Sometimes I really wish I could have a “real” fall and winter, a little reason I have the urge to move out-of-state hehe. Anyways, because of how warm it has been, I wanted to show you fellow Californians how to wear your favorite fall pieces during our fall season.

One of my absolute favorite coats is a trench coat. Luckily, they make thin trench coats as well as thicker ones. Maybe they made the thin ones with us in mind 😉 Even though I’m not sure you can call this a “coat” it’s definitely got all of the characteristics of a trench, plus you won’t sweat your butt off wearing it. Depending on the weather that day, you can pair this with a pair of jeans if it’s a little cooler (aka 65 degrees), or wear it with your favorite skirt or shorts when it’s a tad warmer. This trench I bought from Forever 21 last year, and I love it. It’s perfect to pair with a light-weight tee and the pants of your choice. I decided to pair it with my gingham skirt and booties for a more dressy look. It’s also great for a chic office look, on the days you want to look more put together haha. So when it comes to a piece that you want, try to find an alternative that is more light-weight. I’ve also seen a lot of “cardigan coats” lately, which are perfect because they won’t cause us a heat stroke while we are walking around wearing it during the day 🙂

Before I talk about my next look, I wanted to talk a little bit about my newest Closet Access bag. I mean how beautiful is it?! Closet Access is a company that is inspired by luxury designer handbags and was created to help give us more affordable versions of the latest handbags you see your favorite celebrities and bloggers wearing. This bag is the ‘Kendall Crossbody Bag’ and is inspired by the Chloe Faye Bag, and instead of it being almost $2000 it’s less than $100. Such a steal right?! I have seen so many bloggers wearing the real one, but I would absolutely never spend that much on a bag. I’d rather go on a nice vacation for that amount of money. But less than $100? I’m in! I think this is an awesome idea for those who love the style but can’t afford the price tag. This bag also comes in black and a cognac color. If you have had your eye on a designer handbag, but don’t have the funds, make sure to check them out, they have so many different styles (including adorable backpacks!) that you will fall in love with.

For my second look, I wanted to show you that you can pair your anorak jacket (which is a little heavier) with your favorite denim shorts and sneakers for a more laid-back causal look on a sunny day. This jacket is one of my faves, but it’s been hard to wear with jeans lately because of the weather. But, if you simply throw on a pair of shorts, you won’t be uncomfortably hot, and you still get to wear that jacket you’ve been dying to take out of your closet. Win-Win!

Thanks as always for reading!
