Since fall is officially here, I wanted to tell you about three of my must-have staple items for this cooler season. Living in Southern California, I can get away with wearing this look probably 80% of the year. But for those who live in states that actually have seasons, fall and winter are the seasons you can finally break out your favorite jackets, jeans and booties! Whenever it’s cold here, I am beyond thrilled to get some use out of all of the jackets I have bought over the years hehe. My three must-have staple items for this season are: anorak jackets, cropped jeans and cognac booties.
I bought this anorak jacket from Nordstrom when it was on a sale a few weeks ago. I got it for less than $35, which was a total score. This jacket is actually a bit thicker, which is perfect for you guys that have a colder fall/winter. You can also pair this jacket with a swing dress or one of your favorite skirts! It’s very versatile and can be thrown on no matter what you are wearing, as long as the olive-green matches whatever you have on 😉 Unfortunately this exact jacket is sold out, but I linked a few similar ones that are super affordable below.
My second fall must-have is a pair of cropped jeans. I bought these Topshop jeans during the same weekend sale as the anorak jacket, so of course there is only a few sizes left. But honestly, you can find cropped jeans anywhere, and I linked my favorites at the end of this post. Cropped jeans have become more popular in probably the past year, and I really like them! They do kind of look like “high waters,” you know, the jeans that you’ve grown out of, and are now too short and stop before your ankles haha. I do sometimes feel a little like Uriel while wearing these, but they look so cute with booties or loafers and have easily become my go-to pair of jeans to wear to work. Even if you think you can’t pull them off, you should definitely go try them on. You might just surprise yourself!
Last, but certainly not least, my last must-have staple item is cognac booties. Cognac is such a great fall color and I can’t get enough of it. You probably can tell though by looking at my bag and belt, as well as my booties. I talked about these booties a lot last week in my blog posts, so you know the deal. But after wearing them for the past week, they are very comfortable and were definitely worth the splurge. If you aren’t a huge cognac fan, no worries, they also come in black! 🙂
