I’m stepping out of the box a little bit with this look aren’t I? Y’all, this dress is so 90’s, I feel straight out of an episode of Friends haha. I have been seeing so many bloggers wearing these layered slip dresses and it was a look I finally had to try out. Though florals are normally worn in spring/summer, I think the black mesh makes it a perfect transitional dress to continue wearing into fall. What do y’all think?

I bought this layered slip dress from Nordstrom in the BP section for less than $50. I wasn’t entirely sure if I could pull it off or not, but I had to try it on in the dressing room just to see. To my complete surprise, I thought it looked so cute, and had to put it up on the blog because I wanted to know what you guys thought about it. Are we feeling this 90’s inspired look or no? Let me know in the comments below. I think this dress is so different from the sweater or swing dresses that are so popular right now. Trying a new style is always good from time to time!

I was very torn with whether or not I should pair this dress with my black Steve Madden booties, or my black Vans. I ended up choosing the booties, but still think it would look so skater-girl-chic with a pair of sneakers. A lot of the girls I’ve seen in similar dresses to this one, have worn sneakers, so that’s why I wanted to switch it up. These booties are from a few seasons ago, but you can still buy them from Zappos for less than $75!

I hope y’all had a great weekend ! I caught up with a few friends, ate some delicious Mexican food and oh, GOT A TICKET FOR HOLDING MY PHONE WHILE DRIVING, UGH! I was so shocked when I got pulled over because I had no clue what I had done wrong. I was shaking when I handed the officer my license and registration. Side note: I didn’t even know what my registration looked like, and he ended up having to point it out to me *insert embarrassed face emoji* haha. I thought I was for sure going to get off with a warning since I’ve never had a ticket before, but lo and behold he gave me a ticket and I have to go appear in court for it, so lame! So that was my weekend, definitely could have been worse, but I guess I learned my lesson. Well kind of, I for sure was sending a picture of my ticket to my parents as I was driving home after the incident, so I guess you can say I’m kind of a rebel 😉

P.S. If you like my Daniel Wellington ‘Classic Petite Ashfield’ watch, you can use my code LARKINS to get 15% off your purchase! This ultra-thin watch was just released and I absolutely love how it goes with anything you’re wearing. Plus, the matte black mesh band is pretty cool! You can purchase it with the rose gold bezel or silver! Mine is the rose gold 🙂
