Hey y’all, yes, I’m still alive incase anyone was wondering. Hopefully I still have some readers out there after my hiatus! If anything, I know my mom and grandma are at least still reading;) The reason I’ve been so absent is because I haven’t been totally in love with the Summer clothes that are currently out. I could go out and buy clothes just to create some content for the blog, but I don’t want to ever talk about pieces that I’m not in love with. I always want to be true to my style on here, which is why I have decided to only blog when I buy pieces I really like. Luckily this weekend I finally found some cute, new clothes. I’m not the biggest fan of Summer fashion, I’m definitely more of a fall type of gal, so keep an eye out for some more fresh content in the next few months.
So unless you live under a rock, then you know that the Nordstrom Anniversary sale has been going on for the past few weeks. While so many bloggers have been raving about how amazing the sale is, I have been keeping my mouth shut about it because I quite frankly, don’t think it’s that great. Anyone else? I looked through the whole sale online and in stores, and the only things I bought was an adorable Brixton fiddler hat (they are all the rage right now), a weekender tote, and this striped midi dress. This year nothing really caught my eye, and if it did, it still was pretty expensive. So I feel like I wouldn’t be a blogger if I didn’t at least mention that the sale is going on, but honestly, I wouldn’t rush over to Nordstrom to go check it out. Nothing is that great (in my opinion), and everything is either sold out online, or picked over in stores.
Okay, Nordstrom rant over. But I am happy I did manage to find this super cute Lush striped midi dress that I’m kind of obsessed with (mainly the back of it!). I’m not really one to buy dresses, but I saw this one for under $35 and just had to buy it. Sometimes you just have to buy now, and figure out where you’re going to wear it later haha. I paired this dress with my cognac Madewell bag and Steve Madden sandals. You can definitely dress this dress up with a pair of open-toed booties and a leather jacket, or dress it down with sandals and a jean jacket. This dress is perfect for any season depending on the accessories that you choose to wear with it. Unfortunately it’s sold out, (boo!) but, I still linked it below because different sizes have been available periodically on the Nordstrom website. I would just continue to check the website and cross your fingers that your size becomes available. If it doesn’t, I linked a few other cute midi dresses below.
How cheesy am I in the above picture? haha. I think it’s hilarious when bloggers post their funny outtakes during their shoots, so I thought I would post one of me clearly being very over taking photos! I hope everyone’s having a great Summer so far. I have been loving relaxing and laying out at the pool every weekend, but I’m of course looking forward to the fall (for the clothes)! To end the Summer, I will be taking a little trip to Dallas for my friends bachelorette party, which I am so looking forward to. Not only is it the first bachelorette party that I will be attending, but it’s also my first good friend who’s getting married! When did I get so old that it’s becoming the norm to see engagement/wedding photos all over my social media?! AH!!
