April 26, 2017

I just got back from my New York/Hoboken trip, and it completely exceeded my expectations. It was my first time ever going to NYC or New Jersey, and it was easily the best trip of my life! I can’t wait to share my entire weekend with you guys, so be on the lookout for a blog post in the near future recapping my entire vacation. We did pretty much every touristy activity you could do, all while sipping some great cocktails, and munching on the yummiest pizza. I already want to plan my next trip there 😉

Swing dresses are so perfect for Summer when the weather is so hot, you don’t even want to wear anything. I bought this dress a few years back from Nordstrom, and it’s great to wear as a coverup to the pool or beach, and even to run those weekend errands. The issue with swing dresses, for me, is that sometimes it looks like you’re wearing a trash bag. Okay, maybe not that extreme, but sometimes they can look very unflattering, and no one wants to look bigger than they are. So I vowed that every time I want to wear this particular dress, I will accessorize it with a cute belt. This western belt makes the dress a little tighter in the mid-section so that it doesn’t look like you’re pregnant with twins when you’re turned to the side 😉 C’mon, I can’t be the only one that thinks this!

This western belt is one of my favorites, and its only $15 at Target! I’ve talked about my newest obsession with belts over the past few months, but I’m particularly loving western belts. I just bought two of them from ASOS, both at great prices! I will have a few looks next week showing how I like to style my belts. I typically like to go for a more edgier/skater girl/casual look when I wear them. Think ripped jeans, casual tee, and Vans. That’s pretty much my go-to look lately 🙂

Have you guys noticed I’m starting to take photos in a new location?! I got some feedback that I always take my photos in the same location, so I decided to switch it up. These particular photos were taken a little more in the afternoon which is why they are a little too sunny for me, but overall I loved this location. The palm trees and lanterns in the background are pretty, and the location still gives an overall white background look (which is what I prefer)! It truly is difficult finding spots to shoot with great lighting. So when I find one, I try to stick with it 🙂
