April 10, 2017

Hey guys! I’ve been slacking a little bit on the blogging, but don’t worry, I’m back in business this week 😉 Sometimes you just need a little break, and the past two weeks have been just that for me. I was feeling very overwhelmed and busy at work, and just needed to vedge out with some Gossip Girl once I got home. Side note: this is the third time I’ve watched the Gossip Girl series, and I still can’t get enough of it. I just want to be Blair Waldorf in my next life hehe. I always go off on tangents, but back to it. I wanted to talk about two of my must-have staple items this spring: off the shoulder tops, and denim skirts.

Off the shoulder tops have been featured in so many of my blog posts over the past few months, and believe me, there will be a lot more. I bought two new ones that I can’t wait to show you guys. The reason they are so popular, in my opinion, is that they go perfectly with any type of bottoms. From jeans, denim skirts, shorts, and my new favorite, overalls! With festival season coming up, I can imagine this will be the hot top everyone is going to be wearing. They sell them virtually anywhere and everywhere, all at different price points. This grey one I’m wearing I bought a while back at H&M, but I linked a few similar Free People ones at the bottom of this post that would look adorable to wear to an upcoming festival, or just for a brunch date. Can we just talk about how I’m holding my purse backwards, LOL^^

Denim skirts are also such a must-have for this season. I got this one from Forever 21 a few months ago for less than $20, and love that you can make it dressy or casual just by the type of shoe/top you choose to wear with it. You can go super casual and wear this skirt with a pair of vans and a plain tee, or dress it up with heels and a tight-sleek “going-out” top.  Haha you’re probably wondering what I consider a “going-out” top, well to me, it’s a top that is more form-fitting and most likely black (black always looks sexy 😉 ). Forever 21 has so many cute skirts right now, check a few out below!

Off the Shoulder Top: H&M, old (similar here) | Jean Skirt: Forever 21 (also cute here, here) | Booties: Forever 21, old (similar here, here) | Tote: Target | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban | Belt: Burlington Coat Factory (similar here, here)

The concho belt that I’m wearing, my mother threw on me as we were walking out the door, and it completely made the outfit. It’s a belt she bought from Burlington Coat Factory, but I found a few somewhat similar ones for you guys. It’s really true when they say an accessory can make or break an outfit. I don’t think this look would have looked the same had I not have had this belt on. I’ve become a HUGE belt fan in the past few months! I love wearing simple looks, but if I just wear a pair of skinny jeans and a plain tee, it’s a tad boring. But if I throw on a belt with it, it makes it a lot more put-together.  I also just ordered two new ones from ASOS that I hope will look as cute online as they do in person. I’ll show you ladies those once they come in.

Can anyone believe it’s already mid-April? I swear I say that every month, but it’s really crazy how quick time is going by. I really want to work on publishing some personal posts for you guys (if anyone would even want to read them). I was thinking of talking about some topics that all of us girls goes through like: breakups (finding the positive side of them), getting through a “rut,” letting relationships/friends go, being the only single one in your group of friends, etc. What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments below.
