Happy Monday guys! The weekend just flew by, right? It rained yesterday and was pretty overcast most of the weekend, which doesn’t make me a happy gal! On Saturday, my friend Kelly and I headed up to LA to spend the day being tourists. Even though I only live an hour away, it feels like a totally different universe. Orange County is so much more laid back, less congested and definitely doesn’t have traffic like LA. I’m trying to step more out of my comfort zone and experience new places and be a little more adventurous. So this was our first little day trip!
Driving in LA, let me tell you, was NOT fun! I was getting a little bit of anxiety driving around in a place that I’m not super familiar with, and not to mention the very aggressive LA drivers. But we did make it there in one piece, and barely hit any traffic #winning! Our first plan for the day was to head to Melrose Avenue and attempt to go find some cute walls to take photos in front of (of course!). We found this angel mural right away. It’s located near Melrose Avenue and Ogden. Unfortunately the sun was pretty bright that afternoon, which as many of you know, is the worst time to take photos! They didn’t come out as great as I had hoped, quality-wise, but at least I can say I got the photo 😉
We then continued to walk around and realized there wasn’t too much to see, so we hopped back in the car and drove to the “Paul Smith Wall,” aka the famous hot pink wall. It’s located on: 8221 Melrose Avenue, West Hollywood. They were super strict about not using professional cameras, which was a such a bummer, so once again, another not-so-great quality photo! Ugh! I know a lot of bloggers use their cameras there to take photos, so unsure why I wasn’t able to? After our little photo shoot, we went and ate at Antonio’s on Melrose. It was so delicious! I had the enchiladas (which were to die for), and a strawberry margarita–so yummy! If you are in the area and craving some Mexican food, I would highly recommend it.
After lunch we headed to the famous Hollywood Boulevard to walk around. Super touristy! There was a lot of tourist shops, a few museums: the Hollywood Wax Museum, the Museum of Broken Relationships (as seen on The Bachelor), and lots of food trucks and restaurants. By this point, the sun started going away and it was getting a little chilly so we called it a day. But overall we had a great time and want go back soon to do the Hollywood hike, explore Venice and Santa Monica!
I will be sharing another post this week talking about what I’m wearing, and all of the great deals I found at Target 🙂 Literally, this entire outfit, besides the jeans, I bought at Target this weekend. Can’t wait to tell you more about it!
Have a great week girlies!
